Greek Food Festival
Each year patrons from our surrounding communities visit our parish in Oakmont/Verona
during the last weekend of June for our annual Greek Food Festival. Our 2013 Festival, is celebrating its
39th Anniversary, and has become one of the premier Greek Food Festivals in the Pittsburgh
area.
In Greece, a panayita (festival) consists of good food, drink, music and dancing. Our
Festival is an opportunity for us to share our ethnic heritage with our local community. It is a chance
for us to come together and enjoy some good food and traditional live music and ethnic dancing.
Members of our parish begin making preparations for our Festival each year in January.
These preparations includes many hours of meetings, coordinating, food preparation and setting up to
ensure that each year's festival is a success.
We would like to thank those in the surrounding areas for attending the festival each
year you help to make our festival a success. Our annual festival is an important part of our
church we are proud to be able to provide this event to our community.
